Both projects emphasize community involvement and the importance of supporting vulnerable populations to foster positive change and promote sustainable development in society.
The presentation highlights two significant projects led by Anjola Ademola-Osinuga, designed to tackle critical social issues aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Zero Hunger and Quality Education.
The first initiative, titled “Put a Smile on Someone’s Face,” was launched in December 2016. This project was supported by Anjola and family members and initiated by Greatness Omotogbolahan Samuel while he was in Rwanda. The project aimed to provide support to underprivileged individuals in his community during a Muslim festival. This initiative involved financial contributions and the distribution of rice to those in need, showcasing a commitment to alleviating hunger and enhancing the well-being of the community.
The second project, known as the “Girls Reach Out Programme,” commenced in July 2017. This initiative, supported by Og uche Omale Divine and Anjola Ademola-Osinuga, was initiated by the Ignite Africa Leadership Foundation and executed by Somto Ike. The project was part of a broader strategy to empower young girls by addressing the challenges they face in their educational and career pursuits. It was inspired by a book launch aimed at fostering leadership and resilience among girls, with a vision to encourage them to confront the obstacles they may encounter by 2022 and beyond.
Collectively, these projects illustrate a dedication to social change through community engagement and a focus on sustainable development, reflecting a profound concern for the well-being of vulnerable populations.
