AIU’s Bachelor of Science program in Water Engineering has a strong program of study that teaches important material needed to appreciate and manage water resources in a sustainable manner. Within a broad selection of courses and studies that includes hydrology, water quality assessment, environmental impact assessments, and water resource management, the students are able to utilize quality information and pedagogies not only to develop knowledge and skills in the science and engineering of water, but also to formulate effective procedures and processes to provide solutions for sustainable water challenges of the future – knowledge and skills that involve research and practical applications that are current and new in the field.
The program provides an interdisciplinary learning environment while fostering a robust understanding of the topics of fluid mechanics or hydrodynamics, water treatment technologies, and public or policy awareness of water as a resource. Students completing this program will be ready to work with and contribute to water sustainability on a global scale.
At AIU, the Environmental Engineering or Water Engineering orientation courses that accompany the Bachelor’s in Water Engineering program are a solid start for students’ academic journey. These virtual campus courses introduce course content that helps students gain foundational knowledge, learn skills, and recognize the components of a successful academic journey. In the case of AIU, the Bachelors in Water Engineering thesis defense is an important event noting that students present their capabilities and finish their overall learning process of the field. Under the supervision of faculty mentors, students engage in and complete in-depth, and report, a research project on the need for the field of water engineering. Each year AIU organizes graduation ceremonies where the students can assist and share their experiences with fellow students and academic members Participation in the ceremony is optional, the day’s events include conferences, research presentations, group meetings, networking, lunch and formal dinner.

To gain acceptance into the Bachelors in Water Engineering program at Atlantic International University (AIU), applicants must possess a high school diploma, or comparable recognized credential, from their country of residence. In keeping with AIU’ open and andragogic learning philosophy, applicants will be encouraged to submit a personal statement detailing their background of academic interest, defined career goals, and motivation to pursue studies in water engineering. The applicant can come from many academic backgrounds; prior experience in the sciences or engineering is advantageous, but celebrating diversity affords flexibility in the admission-territory-learners. Step 4: If you are invited to an Admissions interview, Interview (if applicable)

Water Engineer – A water engineer specializes in areas of engineering related to water supply, wastewater treatment and sustainable water resources engineering.
Civil Engineer – job available to design and build water resource infrastructure such as dams, pipelines and drainage systems, and design, supervise and build treatment facilities.
Environmental Engineer – pollution control, water quality and ecosystem protection.
